Whether you need a visa to visit Sweden depends on your nationality and the length of your stay.

Getting to and Around Gothenburg
Getting to Gothenburg
Gothenburg can be easily reached by air, rail, road and ferry. The city’s international airport, Göteborg Landvetter Airport, is located approximately 20 km from the city center. Airport shuttle buses connect the airport with central Gothenburg in about 25–30 minutes.
Rail services connect Gothenburg with several Scandinavian cities, including Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen. Long-distance bus services and ferry connections also operate between Gothenburg and destinations in Sweden and neighboring countries.

Public transport in Gothenburg is operated by Västtrafik and includes trams, buses and passenger ferries. Tickets can be purchased via the Västtrafik To Go mobile application or at authorised sales points.

The official currency of Sweden is the Swedish krona (SEK). Sweden is renowned for being one of the most cashless societies globally and many establishments prefer or exclusively accept card or mobile payments. Most international credit cards are accepted.
